About this course

This course is taught in English.

Bringing a puppy into your life is exciting and a wonderful time that always lasts way too short.

Every puppy is unique and even experienced dog owners face new challenges with each one.

This course focuses on building trust, understanding and teamwork, helping you guide your puppy with kindness and confidence.

At this young age, puppies are like little sponges, soaking every information up. This is why these early moments are crucial for shaping your dog´s future, and I am here to get ready for your life together.

My puppy classes are more than teaching commands – they are great opportunities to practice environmental training and socializing and together we will create a wonderful lifelong partnership.

Who is this for?

New puppy owners and those with experience in raising puppies, but looking for structured training.
Online sessions can be started at any age.
In-person sessions can start after your puppy received its second vaccination.
Your puppy should be max. 6-8 months of age (depending on the breed).

Course objectives

Build a positive and trusting relationship with your dog from the very beginning, using fair and respectful methods so your puppy enjoys cooperating with you.
Explore typical puppy behaviours.
Learn essential skills such as sit, down, stay, calming down, mat/crate training, recall, leash walking and self-control.
Learn how to maintain a balanced and fulfilling life with a dog.
Practice environmental training and socialization to help your puppy adapt to new situations and environments - a lifelong skill!
Learn about our dog`s sign & body language to better understand their emotions and needs.

Every owner and puppy is different in their lovely way, so I will adjust the course to suit the individual needs and strengths of each team.

How it works

Each session combines easy-to-understand theory with practical exercises to help you and your puppy learn together.
Practice at home between sessions to reinforce what you've learned and build the foundation of your lifelong bond.
Questions are welcome at any time and we'll address them in the following session to ensure that all participants learn from it.

Can online sessions actually work?

YES! Online sessions work wonderfully, as most training begins in a calm, familiar environment. Your home is the perfect place for your puppy to learn and feel safe.

Your trainer

Hi, I’m Doreen! I grew up in Germany, but moved to Iceland and made it my home.

These days, I am helping dog owners build better relationships with their dogs. Knowing that behaviour is also shaped by nutrition, I am just as passionate about raw dog food and I love guiding people keeping their dogs healthy and make them both smile.

I believe with all my heart that a mix of good training and healthy food is the best way to bring out the best in your dog.

6 one-hour sessions, either face-to-face or online.
Simple, step-by-step guidance helping you with what to do.
Small groups to ensure a comfortable learning environment.
Plenty of practical exercises and opportunities to ask all your questions as you go.

I offer sessions OUTDOORS in a sheltered area or INDOORS - both in 110 Rvk.

The exact location will be announced after booking.

ONLINE sessions are possible.
